    "Austrian style" eagle in photo

    Always a good time at the Minnesota State Fairground Show. I was given this police wedding photo. Nothing too special, but I figured it's neat to see the Austrian style eagle in a period photo.

    Plaese, how does this the "Austrian style" differ from the German style?

      This pattern eagle was first seen with the Austrian annexation. All were named to Wien or surrounding towns and it was speculated that these were made locally in Austria.

      The insignia is not "different" from other such insignia, only the unique pattern is associated with Austrian manufacture. But again speculation only as it is impossible to know for sure.

            Excellent portrait Ran! Also interesting to see another case of the alleged Austrian eagle design that has been discussed soo many times in the past. By the way, did you pursue that Salzburg sleeve eagle?
            Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

                Nice photo!

                Not too Long time ago a nice attic find set of tunic, coat etc. was sold here on WAF. According to the seller the set came straight from an attic in vienna.
