Post your DRK sisterhood brooches here

    Hi,

I am making a thread only for Deutsche Rotes Kreuz sisterhood brooches, to make a list with all the different sisterhoods and numbers.
So please would you send your pictures below, and let see how many different sisterhoods out there, and maybe we will find some twin sisters(brooches with same number).
    I will update the list.

    Regards
    Andre

            Hello Andre,

Great thread. Here's the only sisterhood badge in my collection: "SAARBRUCKEN 163".

            You have a wonderful collection!

            Regards,
            Paul

heres a few more in the basket.
              Regards Pete
The gold finish and silver were imo just because of different makers not grade???
Here is also a painted late war type hard to find.

                Hi,

Gold means the lady passed all exams and has finished her education.
Silver means the lady is still in apprenticeship or accepted without a finished education.

All sisterhood brooches (not Helferin and Schwesternhelferin) were produced by A. Stübbe.

                Regards

ah ok .you learn something every day.
So does that mean that you can find a gold and silver with the same number ????????
                  Regards Pete

The numbers are like inventory numbers... every nurse got her brooches and the numbers were registered in lists at the motherhouse.

The brooches were ordered at Stübbes and i guess they produced them like this: The brooches were stamped before the enamel and the silver or gold finish was added. I assume further that the numbers were stamped continous. So i don't think that there are two brooches with the same number... but i really lack any evidence!

By the way: There should not be any large round brooches in silver, as these were only handed out to full membership nurses of a motherhouse... and to become a full member nurse of a motherhouse you needed to have passed all exams!

                      great

                      Fantastic info .
I always had problems finding out anything about the award system.
You have cleared up several issues and answered several questions.
                      Thanks very much.
                      Regards Pete

I have 2x Number 118 in my collection

Beziehst du das auf den jeweiligen Ausbildungsstand (Schwester, Schülerin, Hilfsschwester, etc) oder allgemein? :-)

Ich denke an Broschen mit dem gleichen "Ausbildungsstand".
Was hast Du denn für nummerngleiche?

I'm Thinking of brooches with the same ' training level '.
What did you do for numbers same.

it didn't translate very well but I think I understand.
Each type must have started with 1 and then gone up.
so with 3 or more different types we will see 3 or more numbers the same .
Is this what you mean ???
                            Regards Pete

                              Hi,

                              no... sorry, i meant:

I think about brooches with the same inscription on the front side and colour.
I asked her about her matching number set... she should have posted a pic or at least write what kind of brooches with matching numbers she has.

                              Regards
