Nice 8 year medal bar with ribbon bar, I nearly got that one myself! He obviously went on and did his 18 years as the eagle on the ribbon bar shows and was probably a career policeman as no WW1 service medals.

The 18 year bar is also nice with the Olympic medal, and the 25 year bar I see has the later 50mm ribbon eliminating the need to put the police eagle "patch" on it.

Mounted 8 year medals are rarely seen. The 25 year medals are the most common as WW1 vets who entered the police after that war had mounted WW1 medals already, and by the time of the 1936 medals they were qualified for the 25 year medal. Newbies with the 8 year medal didn't have any other decorations so no medal bars. Nice display.
