Help With Police Summer Weight Uniform ??

    Hi all!

I have been looking at the following rural police uniform. Para military and police is not my expertise so I'm seeking your opinions on this matter. All comments appreciated. These are the only pictures I can get of the uniform.

    (IHMO the material looks good)

    Thank you, Steve

    Hello,

The eagle is Schutzpolizei, not SS polizei, and from here looks good. The tunic material looks good. I must say however; that I believe that "open collar" tunics were not per regulations although I have seen period photos of officers with tailor made tunics with open collars.

The dagger hanger is a bit odd. The rank is sergeant. I think in some cases they could wear a sword, so that might explain it.

In my experience these summer weight HBT tunics for city assigned police have been cut in the standard "Rock" police style, this is cut like a field tunic. That said I must admit eagles, not tunics are my forte'.

There are some real police uniform experts lurking here in the police forum, I am sure they can help you.

    Regards,
    Bill Unland

The tunic & trousers appears to be constructed with mottled material (tan with interwoven green or green/orange threads). Just looking back at all the past examples I’ve observed, they were all 6-button and cut similar to the feldbluse, some layed open to appear like a 4-button. This is not to say a 4-button could not exist, I have one but I’ve not been able to figure it out and the “Po” with a date stamp is not clear. Is the tunic your looking at marked inside? One thing that jumps out at me is the use of the silver pip on the Meister shoulder strap, a rank that was replaced around the end of 1939.
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

        Steve,

I echo the comments made by Bill and Gary. I am frankly uncomfortable with this uniform for the reasons they have stated and the fact that I have seen many postwar reworks of this style. I also saw a brand new fake of this type at SOS that appeared to have been made yesterday. Personally, I would not buy it. If I were you, I would wait for a standard regulation police uniform that did not have these questions to put that much money in. I hope this helps.
