Smooth Police Buckle

Hey guys, I hope all are well. What do you guys think of this buckle. My first time seeing a smooth face one. Thanks for any opinions and comments.

Personally I'm not overly wild about it given the smooth field when a pebbled field was called for. The Angolia book has one pictured, also by OLC, but little supporting it. Perhaps a variant? Might be worth also posting at the buckle forum.

I have seen a few fakes with a smooth finish but this looks good. The catch, prong bar and ears look like other steel Overhoff buckles. Here is a steel Heer Overhoff.

Smooth Police Buckle

These buckles belong to a friend. There seems to be several with a smooth field. I will be seeing his collection in a few months and give these a hands on inspection.
