Polizei gaiters in unusual pattern?? Help appreciated!

These Polizei gaiters were recently offered. IMO a unique and very interesting pattern with the three buckle closing hence I bought them out of curiosity. The "1340/42 RZM" stamp indicating 1942 production? Would not know what the other stamp stands for; 4 letter abbreviation indicating Russian depot perhaps?

Are these indeed WW2 Polizei issue? Has anyone seen them before?

Any additional information would be much appreciated.

    F.

I have never seen a three buckle set like this. The markings are worry-some with Russian "CCCP" markings and "RZM" markings. I do not get a good feeling about these. Postwar at best, with false markings, in my best opinion.

I agree with your observations but not having seen it does not necessarily mean post war IMO. Especially since the pattern looks rather obsolete.
After all, the pre war Schnürstiefel (so called buckled boots); also had a legging with similar three buckle clousure...?

In this thread there is a similar pair in construction: leather reinforcement + reinforcement hooks but here with the two buckle clousure.

I came across this image of a Zollgrenzschutz officer; it appears he is wearing three buckle closure gaiters.

They are in all likelihood Austrian-made or Austrian-pattern Mountain Troops’ gaiters. The same three strap & buckle style has been used by the Austrian military also after WW2.
