Hello and Happy Holidays Forum Members,
Is this badge good, is it even a badge or is it an event pin. I found a few references to it, but the ones I saw had blank tops, where this one reads WASSERKUPPE-RHON . And is the booklet related other than the 1940 date.
The booklet is a 12 month calendar and I have notes on what it contains.
A calendar, with highlights of historical events and birthdays of famous personalities.
The program of the NSDAP
The organization of the NSFK, IE Breakdowns of the Gruppes ect..
Uniforms and Awards of the NSFK
Breakdown of the structure from the Korpsfuhrer to the 17 Gruppes and the standarts.
Sailplane qualifying and much more. It is a 80 page booklet.
But it is the badge I want to know about, with Reddick and others reproducing so many of these type pins, I want to double check, it looks good to me.

Many people will tell you this Badge is a reproduction.

This particular event was cancelled due to the war, the Badges may well have been manufactured earlier and never issued.

2 questionable badges

I have found reference to the 1940 badge on 2 sites, I thought it was for a canceled event. I also have these 2 which I think are no good. But I always thought the 1940 pin was good.
I will be interested in hearing more opinions.

I finally got the search words right and now know my answer.
It seems so correct ?? I like the enamel and the details of the face of the pegusis.
Could this of been something produced for a event that was canceled, maybe.
But it is still considered a fake, and that is fine.
I am just trying to get it right.

Here's a bit of logo minutiae I just noticed, Jack: regarding your note #5, on the figure of the winged man on the badge, the figure's face is upturned, as if we were seeing the whole man's form from beneath as he flies above us; on the book's cover, that figure appears to be looking directly at us, from a standing position. Looking at other examples of NSFK badges and books online, this logo disagreement between badges and books was apparently wide-spread as a number of other examples exists, as well. Always something new to notice!
