      hanger

      Hi .
I do not go much on the opening on the hanger .Miss shaped also the piece between the award and ring seems to small for the opening on award. Here is a known original.
      Regards Pete

The jump ring is incorrect so it's a from me.

You can find original medals with a narrow jump ring such as this- they are perfectly round with a bevelled edge as this one.

The medal in question appears cast to me- there does seem to be a seam on the edge in the side photo, also the loop at the top has been crudely punched or cut out- again signs of a casting- you will not see this type of workmanship on an original no matter what period of the war.

Here is one with similar jump ring that was recovered by a US vet, probably S&L as just about everything else including an RK he brought back was.
