    Fuerschutz tunic, but what era?

I have this tunic from the family's collection. I was wondering if it is Weimar era or early 30's. It appears to be a Feuerschutz uniform. The smalls were found in the pocket and the CT fit perfectly on the empty collar space. There are only small holes in the front for the ribbon bar, no loops and no sign of an arm insignia. I suspect the original owner was a member of the Army of Austria/Hungary during WW1. The ribbon bar is nice in it's own right.

Can you also assess the value as I do not wish to keep this.

    Thank you for reviewing this!

Closest I could, find photo of Feuerwehr dated 1926. The cut of the tunic is similar, but the collar is different, lacking the tabs also. Perhaps mine is late 20's early 30s

With the velvet cuffs your tunic is definitely pre NS-zeit. My guess would be imperial period. Now, the tabs and boards are M1936. BUT it is possible that the tunic could have been used during the war period by an elderly volunteer fireman who retained his old tunic. Volunteer firemen are pictured using even the old double breasted tunics during the war so anything is possible. In a purely technical sense the tabs and boards do not match the date of the tunic.......but again, could very well have been used together.

Thank you for the insight. The tunic with insignia does not fit any during the war time, nor any during the Weimar period. It does make sense that this could even be his pre-WW1 fire uniform and he continued to do his duty during WW2. The deep impressions on the collar indicate that these were on there for a very long time.

In any event this is an interesting jacket.

            Thanks
