Having only two or three over the years, I can't say whether that is rare either Dave. Are they aluminum Gerd?

Yes......... ... a feature you only can see on Knebelketten of this manufacturer!

However, most important is, that the Knebelkette is named (Heinrich Kroch) and it is possible to date it in a range of 18 years (1901-1919).
