Indeed...besides the casting flaws, like the bubbles, these did not have screw backs. On top of that they really went over board on that backing plate. They threw everyhing on there. Its got a miltary eagle, an rzm and even the always desirable ss......wow.

Agreed, that one is a mess of a cast fake. Just to mention is if and when you ever find a real one, and they are rare and far and few between, it will cost far in excess of $200 which was another warning sign.

Weitze has an example for 6,500 euro!!!!!! And since ive never held a real one I have no clue if the pin on the back is correct or not.

I know the one you are talking about, what I do not understand about that badge is the absolute lack of yellow painted/highlighted areas.

The pin appears correct , but the explanation I can offer for the lack of yellow detail on the skis and letters is that it was cleaned and perhaps repainted.

Cleaned/repainted is what I was wondering. What do you think of the catch, does it compare to the known originals? Others I've saved images of had round stock (brass?) used for the catch.
