New address for Gestapo and Kripo site

After many years at the same location, Comcast has declared that existing websites will be deleted and will require a new format....and be paid for.

My site has remained virtually unchanged since the year 2000, and I have no reason to change it now.

I have therefore moved the site to the following address.

    https://donbible.wordpress.com/

Warrant Discs of the Gestapo & Kripo.

Examples of information to be found there are shown below, with a fake and original Gestapo disc.

    Thanks,

        Don, 10161, is gorgeous.

It appears nearly mint, with most of the chain hole beveling intact.

Is there any history on this disk you can share?

Gary, It IS MINT. It is a 1994 fake !

This illustrates why they are so dangerous and convincing.

The other disc # 1074 is one I have had for about 25 years and is on the front cover of my book Third Reich Warrant Discs 1934-1945, published by SCHIFFERR PUBLISHNG LTD in 2001.

Don, egg on my face on that one!

It looked so good I did not even check for the bad "E" and "I."

Considering I own original Gestapo disk 9946, and should have known better, please excuse my even bothering you on this one.

It is no bother Gary. At first glance these fakes have always looked good.

I paid $200 for that one at an SOS show several years ago.

I wanted it to study for my fake collection.

When I was able to go to the shows before my wife's illness, I always carried a good and a bad Gestapo disc with me.

That saved a lot of arguments.

Don, thank you for the updated link! The potential loss of your site would be a big disservice to the collector community. In fact, I think this is worthy information to pin/stick to the top since the age old question of ‘is this a good one’ seems to be a frequent question here. Hopefully some of these individuals will find your site and be able to search and learn the answers to their questions but of course they can always continue to post here too since we have multiple collectors well versed in discs here.<O</O

I am pleased to know that it is considered of value to the collecting community.

Dave, especially thank you for your kind comments and your mention of pinning the site at the top. I would feel very honored.

                    Best regards to all!

Vichy version of a KriPo disc?

                          Hello,

                          Good morning.
Any thoughts if this is a Vichy version of a KriPo disc?

                          Keep well,
                          Neil

                              Hi,

This kind of disc was used in the French police beetwwen 1900's and 1970's.
IMHO, this disc is war and just post-war used if not it should be marked "Direction Générale de la Sûtreté Nationale". "Police Nationale" is called like that since 1941.
