The first one posted is embroidered. Hand-embroidered, by the look of it.

The second one is Bevo woven which is typical.

I cannot say for sure that hand-embroidered armbands could not have ever been made for the RLB. But I have strong doubts. Not one that I would want.

              try

I can see the point raised ,i know its not 100 percent but have you tried the black light test and if you can get a few longer threads off it ,do a burn test.
              Regards Pete

Personally not a fan of the hand embroidered one. Not really a reason for someone to make their own of one of these, and if it is home made there seems to be a decent amount of them around. JMO of course

Just fine. Hand embroidered is an original. If a fake, where are the others?

Black light test means nothing, since flourescent brighteners have been in the commercial stream since 1929.

I have seen these before too. I think they are older. Probably from the same source as the other fake armbands in this same group acquired by the OP, including the hand-embroidered SA Wehrmannschaft armband. I suspect they were made in Pakistan like so much of the fake hand-embroidered stuff out there. I agree with Kyle, why would someone make a sloppy hand-embroidered version when the Bevo type was widely available- especially for a leader rank?

If I make a fake thing today but I only make one, does that make it real?

                          hand up

                          Gentlemen.
I wish to change my plee .
after doing a lot of digging rummaging and getting eye strain,i must confess i cannot see the hand woven one being original.
I thought i had seen this as a proven source some time ago.
Guess thats the fun of getting old you cant remember S**t all.
All points here are valied .Why go to all that trouble when you could pick them up easy.
if there had only been one this could have been made as a one off, by a lady as a gift or for the hell of it.Sort of thing my old Mum would do ( well not copy Nazi armbands)

Couple more closeups... Not that I matters...I have never tried the burn test until now....hot a thread, lit it, and it almost just disapeared- like before I could drop it?
