    Hello,

You may have seen this thread already, but there a few originals posted here:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...t=fire+brigade

    Best regards,
    Tom

PS: I recently saw an original first class (second-pattern type) on a parade medal bar. I can't remember what site, but I can probably find it again if you are interested.

      A resently sent Message

Some older collectors have had a chance to own 2 of these 1936 1st Class Fire Brigade Pin Back badges but never thought how few of them existed. A lot of collectors have never seen these Big badges before. The reason is simple. Only 5 to 7 of these badges were awarded in the 13 months they existed !!! They are very high awards and had to be recommended by the Highest in the Nazi Party !! How many other High Nazi awards did not have to be recommended by Major figures in the Nazi Party ??? Very few awards went to High Officials just to be Recommended and approved for this award !!!! Its ultra rare !!!!

I think that the last time I saw a pinback Fire Service Cross 1st Class for sale was in Weitze's shop in Hamburg in 2001. It was a piece just like my own but in more worn condition.

The fire service awards are one of my favourites.

            Very nice set stan !!!

WOW !!! Very nice Stan. I don't remember Weitze having the 1st Class Pin Back for sale ! I know Detlev Niemann having a photo he sent me of one. The 1st Class Pin Back is very different than the 2nd Class 25 year service one. They are given for completely different reason !!!! Look around England and try to get a count on how many you see in collections !!!
