NSDAP Armband? Cuffband? What is it???

Got this just the other day. measures 10 1/2inches by 1 1/4 inches. NSDAP on left and (Part Readiness - In German) on right. It seems like it would fit perfectly on a cuff, but it doesn't look like any cuff title I know of.

These were made to be worn with civilian clothing by those serving temporarily in a semi-official capacity--e.g. someone helping with digging out after an air raid, helping to distribute food after a raid or other disaster, etc.

Yes, as an armband.
I don't know of any book specifically on armbands--you can find information on armbands in related books--e.g. Cloth insignia of the NSDAP and SA by Angolia.
