common misconception is the Wehrwolf was a Freikorps group.
it was formed by fritz kloppe (1921 i think), their ranks were mixed with ww1 vets/ex-freikorps, and young men still patriotic to their country. they disbanded in 1933 if memory is correct.

in the weimar/freikorps forums you will find a thread dedicated to the subject.
