From my experiences, the Heer tresse has only been found on police tunics of the Gendarmerie variety whether it be Gendarmerie, Mot. Gend., and Feld-Gendarmerie. This I assumed is due to the Mot. Gend. being formed upon and with the dissolved/disbanded SA-Feldjaegerkorps of which large numbers transferred to the Feld-Gendarmerie with the outbreak of the war.

So you could say the disbanded SA-FJK who transferred to Mot. Gend., a special service branch of the Gendarmerie, was recognized by the addition of the cuff band to the standard issued police uniform which in frequent cases was taken along with them into transition of the Feld-Gend. until replaced, however, subject to modification the Heer rank structure which included use of the tresses on the collar.

Could there be case where the SA-FJK man went into the Schupo vs. Gend., I suspect that is possible with the desire to politically sift of core of the police with the integration of 'Nazi' minded influence. But that doesn't necessarily authenticate the Schupo tunic with tresse, which could have been crafted by the unscrupulous and I've seen a few cleverly made-up tunics. I'd want to se more of that tunic in question, although I will say the middle farbe (brown or black???) indicates a war appointed officer and generally they brought there standard issues with them from other ranks times and updated with insignia fitting promotion.

SA-FJK was merged into Gendarmerie , thus forming Motoriserte Gendarmerie Bereitschaften , in 1936 whereas the transfer of some 8,000 Mot. Gend. members to the Army as Military Police (Feldgendarmerie) took place three years later, so no link between SA-FJK and the Army use of NCO collar Tresse.
Period photos reveal that to a certain extent early Feldgendarmen did wear the Gendarmerie M36 service tunic with NCO collar Tress stitched on the top and front edges of the brown faced collar, possibly in order to mark their NCO status to Army soldiers who might have not been familiar with Police ranks and insignia.
There are a couple more of period pictures showing a member of Latvian Police “Riga” Rgt showing the NCO Tresse being stitched around the collar, but who knows whether this was a habit of that unit or an individual whim , possibly because of previous NCO service in the Army or Waffen-SS.
