Looks ok to me. The SHD were and are disaster aid workers. Originally the SHD who were qualified and trained fire fighters wore this specialty patch. When the SHD was absorbed into the Luftschutzpolizei they continued to wear these patches even though they were officially discontinued. There are photos of LSP guys wearing their SHD specialty patches on their flight blouse tunics. This "Feuerwehr" F is the most commonly found specialty badge for this organization.

synthetics?

Looks like syntetic material to me from photo and has weave outside the foldlines, which makes me think it's a copy?
Perhaps Just should do a burn test... hope I'm wrong!

All of these are rayon. Here are mine for comparison. Weave outside the fold lines? Not quite sure to what you refer.
Cant say if these are reproduced or not. Of course, I like to think that those I have put together are originals.
