Looks like the same one that appeared in the end of the below linked thread? (Which had a good review)

      Koln Sleeve Eagle

I like the outline and details. Might be the same pattern as mine which I purchased a few years ago. It also had a mesh backing (black).

      Best regards, Randy

        Hello,

In my opinion the insignia that you show is an original example. This pattern is unique in that the lower row of stitching on the leaves of the upper portion of the wreath are missing. It's not an error, all are the same. Odd but considered to be original period manufacture.

Thanks Guys, maybe this style was made at the end of 41?

Frankly I'm not convinced all civil cops changed their insignia when they were supposed to. These were civil guys not military. Cops like to show they are old hands. I know I never swapped my insignia for the new stuff, nor my straight stick for the new fangled ones, and retired 10 years later with my old style insignia.
This guy worked in a city that was not in the war zone so I doubt that there was a lot of pressure to swap insignia. It would be easy to get a district name added even after 1941. You see photos of field gendarm wearing their old named civil gendarm eagles. Cops like traditions.

The fact that these are embroidered on an oval indicates fairly early production. Later, after regulation changes and war shortages cut out eagles were produced, so yes made before or shortly after the 41 regs would be my guess.

Thank You Bill, i believe your theory to correct, maybe the reason also Polizei Helmets always had the nations decal after regulations?
Details like this that make this hobby great!!
