I picked this up today from a local, retiring collector. Figured I'd share

Looks great and seems untouched. Tailored in Altenburg which isn't far from Weimar where the eagle is named. Everything looks original.Congratulation.

Looks like a nice example of a Meister d. Gendarmerie rank tunic.

One thing I noticed is that the pocket flaps on the breast pockets, they appear more angular pointing down in the middle rather than scalloped on the edges...is that true?

Didn't notice that on the small photo, blew it up and it appears you are right. Looks like angled pocket flaps to me too. Don't know what that means, but it looks different.

I have found a few other examples, like in the pic, where the pockets are still listed as "scalloped", but the outside edges of the pockets aren't as sharp and curves as the ones you mention.

I don't know if it's the particular tailor, or a difference in year of design.

The other example is a feldbluse and there are also pics of another that has absolutely straight/flat pocket flaps. It's just different to see that cut/style on yours, most likely attributed to the tailor.
