    Verkehrpo visor - comments please

Rare cap if real i think. Trying to get an inside pic from the guy, who says under the sw'band in front looks like plastic or tin or metal. Also said no sweatshield and no marks but for the size. These things activated my radar. Thanks.

Definitely get more pictures/info. By the way, is the white top cloth or is it the leather like or whatever it is used on postwar caps? It could be just the photo but it looks to have smooth finish.

thanks a lot dave. I was concerned about the 'plastique' also; made sure to ask and he said it was cloth. also on the positive side is it's a Teller-form not the exaggerated saddle seen on the '50s/'60s traffic cop hats. and the band is smooth not rippled and looks correct shade of brown at least to me..... btw the coin is lodged between the eagle and chinstrap 'coz he tried to list it on feePay but was reported by the busybodies....

I agree, better pics are needed to form a concrete opinion.

ok a few more. that odd metal button or whatever inside the front seems suspicious; also must find if eagle is gold-washed or plain. if the latter it's schutzpo and not verkehrspo (right?) hence worth lots less I reckon. thanks again!

Plus it seems the visor's got separated and been glued back at least partly

Plus looks like a lw visor; or did police use green checked inners too?

Yes, the police used green undersides to their visors.
Piping color looks orange in some pics--if so, it is Gendarmerie.
                  Button attachment is strange.

Can you get better pics than this? It looks like he is using a cel phone camera from 1999....

Odd metal button or possible vented cockade? Gold police insignia and chin strap studs would be used by traffic...if silver, it would be wrong for this cap...with red piping, correct?. Overall it looks better than worse...but some good pictures would certainly help! Oh yes, you do have some condition issues...

interesting, thanks, dave. he said the buttons were gold and 'bumpy' - meaning pebbled I d surmise.

dave, et al: the guy says eagle is gold not silver colored, as to the 'button' on the sweatband: 'You mean that steal button on the inside? I think it is a rivet that holds the hard band to the the vertical piece that hold up the peek. It does not connect to the wreath of the eagle.' (I'd asked if it was a vent screen and went thru the TOP insignia....)

'vertical piece' sounds like postwar?? I asked him for an addl. pic

ok here's a pic of the little round metal 'button' or rivet inside front. also as to the stiffener in front he guesses it's cloth-covered cardboard or similar. does this help you guys? thanks again!
