    RAD figure?

I got this in Germany, while I was stationed there in the mid-70s. It has no TR emblem on it, nor any maker mark I have seen. It doesn't appear to have had any kind of plaque on it like an award. I assume it is meant to be a RAD man, but am not sure it is anything but just a figure. Figure has dust on it from the guys who were working here not covering it......me either.

What can you tell me about it, if anything.

    Ron,
Certianly 3rd Reich/early 30s era, but probably for the "Less political" AAD/FAD, not RAD....(RAD would have the typical "uniform/headgear" of the organization) IMO.

Classic pose, too bad it isn't more "politically incorrect" as it would have more "interest" to some, but I think it's definately period...

I'd add it to my "RAD/AAD/FAD collections" if it were mine! Nice "unpolitical" period figure.... needs a dusting!

      Hi Ron,

A very nice piece here; I have what appears to be an exact duplicate in my collection. My example has what looks to be the remains of a plaque that was mounted to the marble base on the obverse side; all that remains is faint adhesive marks from where the dedicatory plaque was removed, probably post-war. I agree with John that, IMO, this piece is from the early 1930s, either originating as an award made to be issued by the FAD or the short-lived NSAD, and for the reason John states. With no evidence of a dedicatory plaque having once been affixed to the base, I would assume that your piece had never been awarded.

      Cheers and enjoy it!

P.S. I forgot to mention, I think I got it at the same time and place that I got this http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ight=RAD+stein , but am not 100% sure due to the memory loss from my stroke.
