What is the brooch of the German nurses?

    Hello,

What is the brooch of the German nurses?
I can not find any information.

Neither of these are official DRK 3rd Reich nurse's brooches....

the "square/standing on it's point" neck badge appears unofficial, possibly a "private Sister/Nursing/Vol. helper/Factory or Camp Hospital ? but can't see enough details to "guess"... but doesn't conform to any prewar, wartime, or postwar Nurses badge I've seen referanced or in the collecting world. Might be just "a neck brooch" ....

The "Oval" badge does contain the "Red Cross emblem" and conforms to several DRK brooches (oval shape)....however, the blurry text doesn't match any I know of, pre-1945.

Most of the 3rd Reich versions have the DRK eagle emblem....though wearing prewar versions (just Red Cross in the center) was allowed.... problem is postwar also just a "red Cross" so properly dating them is difficult.

Nice photos....certianly look "period"- are the postcards definately German?

Austria, before the "anschluss", would have had thier own series of Red Cross rank/position badges as well as other similiar "Sister/Nurseing/Welfare" organizations....but I have no referances on those... (or early postwar types?)

Being Austrian is probably the "differance" (at least on the oval example).
