Alain, I'm giving this one big . I do not like it and it's a highly reproduced pattern. The white reverse breast on this one also makes me think it's another bad example.

I agree with Dave, this eagle appears to have some questionable features. The eagle is centered on the oval base, the white body on back side, the green color seems to be off, and the head is leaning too much.
As the others have stated, it is also my opinion that this insignia is a re production. This particular type. Is very good, but has been proven to be of recent manufacture in Germany.
Search under FAMOUS REPRODUCTION and you can see what I have documented about this eagle.
I would like to have a close up bigger picture of this eagle before I make a definitive decision, it is slightly at the wrong angle to determine its originality.
Although the heavy back stitching on the chest of the eagle is a strong indicator of being a reproduction, generally there is not much elsewhere on other parts of the reproduced birds. This one appears to have an overall even distribution of "snow" (which has been a problem for the fakers). If the back does not react (glow) under UV light, I would consider it good IMHO.
It looks like a thin body long neck type from the picture which would indicate a good eagle but to be sure a closer inspection photo is advised before it is discounted.
With this pattern and particular example and knowing varying levels of reproductions exist combined with having to pick over one opinion or another, I would seriously recommend staying with those patterns and examples known to be good. They are around although it just might take a little more time to find them.

If that eagle is a reproduction, it is a mighty fine one. I don't know why someone would go to all the trouble and expense to try and accurately reproduce a bird that is worth only in the $65.00 range, and not that many people collect them.
