Introduced January 1942 for wear by members of army technical units who were former members of the TeNo. Worn on the upper right arm.

John Angolia states " An order (HV42B,No.11) dated 6 January 1942 established a special sleeve insignia to be worn by all technical troops in commemoration of their origin out of the Technical Emergency Corp (TeNo). The reason given in the introductory order seems to be incorrect since the TeNo was an offshoot founded with the help of the Army in 1919.It is possible that this error was picked up, which caused the distinctive insignia to be abolished on 10 January 1944 (Order HM 44, No.34)
