    ReichsAutoBahnen Bowl

    Hi Folks:

I purchased this messhall bowl at a fleamarket years ago...and I was wondering is this would be used by the "RAB" Police ID'ed in the book "Uniforms, Organization & History of the German Police" Vol#2, pages 420-424? Any assistance would be appreciated.

The bowl is a soup/cereal bowl size stamped in black "ReichsAutoBahnen" made by "Kaestner, Saxonia 1938"

I myself like it...I'm just trying to ID the organization who would use it. Thanks,

Was probably used by the ReichsAutoBahnen workers in the camp canteens.

Hi: I'm on vacation in Germany and I attended a flea market and picked up a dinner plate that is also marked "REICHS AUTOBAHNEN" made by "Kaestner Saxonia 1938"...this is my 2nd piece....in nice condition. I'll post pictures later.

I also picked up four (4) German Postleitungs Karte dated 1938 and 1939 cover Northern Rhineland Phalz, Dresden area, Saxonia area, Berlin, etc and few canteens (late war red/orange enamel, coconut), two ration bags, a "early" dated 1934 super condition Heer breadbag w/strap...and some Tute (EKII 1939 and Silver Mother's Cross). And the last thing I found was a large group of US Army OG-107 fatigues (Trousers & jackets) in new condition dated 1962 contracts and in the lot was a HBT 1947/51 pair of trousers button fly w/zipper tied in button hole flap that was probably tied there for future replacement but never completed.

The Reichsautobahn bowl is no doubt from a rest stop facility restaurant. Here's info in German but with photos: http://web.hs-merseburg.de/~nosske/E.../e2v_rab7.html
