looks like a new repro for me the stitching is just not tight enough on the eagle, way too sloppy and the oak leaves are nothing like the original they are done too well on this one, very close though, just not quite there

Well, after seeing the back I must vote thumbs down. Firstly, it is TOO NEW. The blue base material is stiff and new with a crisp cut line, and hardly appears 60+ years old. The embroidery, as mentioned is too loose, and the chest pattern VERY sloppy and the swastika poorly formed. The head is poorly executed. All in all just too many questionable characteristics when compared to accepted examples of this pattern insignia.

These "Austrian" eagles are never pretty, and some are less than well done, but this one is beyond the acceptable level attributable to "variation" in my opinion.

I would not purchase it if offered to me.
