What is this eagle ?

I have seen eagle for sale and the seller says it is for a motorbyke helmet.
Is he right ?

No, this is an insignia for a Police TShako. Good original marked CTD but very common.

Yes, this is the smaller squat eagle for the leather Police motorcycle helmet. The Tschako eagle is larger, taller, and has screw posts on the reverse.

Not really common at all. Tschako eagles are much easier to find. Basically same as cartridge box eagle but with split pins instead of loops.

Agreed. I see far more tschako insignia and even cartouche insignia than those for the crash helmets. Not and easy one to find. I'm sort of surprised to see only one pin when they are usually split pins. I'll have to revisit some saved images tonight.

No, the attachments were different with the cartouche eagles having loops that were secured with leather strips.
