Are there any regulations for HJ in the police?

Do you have another photo from the side showing the HJ brassard? If not, I would suspect this Gendarme might be a judge at a winter sporting event?

Didnt think of that, I suppose with his youth I automatically thought he was HJ because of the stipe on the band, might have to re-consider my thoughts.

Had another look at this photo and it is an HJ arm band you can just make out the swas on the armband I must of cut it too short on the first scan

Does look young... Police uniform, low ranking shoulder straps, looks like a police buckle, looks regular police, possible Gendarme (as mentioned above) with a lighter lookign brown collar, perhaps the loose looking HJ band is worn over the regular insignia. Maybe a younger/newer regular police member at some HJ event, recruitment op, or...

Yes, the shoulder boards are for Anwarter, or probationary policeman, probably still in training.

Interesting photograph! I've seen the HJ brassard worn with firefighters, LSP, SS, Luftwaffe... . But never with Schupo/Gendarm, Anwarter's uniform, this is not surprising though and it makes for a great picture.
