Anhalt Arbeitsdienst Badges in silver and gold

For your viewing pleasure- gold and silver grades of the elusive Anhalt Arbeitsdienst Ehrenzeichen. Two versions exist. One with AAD in the center and this one- AAD 1932.
Are there any more of them in collections or am I tho only one collecting 'off the beaten track' badges?
    cheers
    Matt

Here's my set of Gold, Silver and Black. The "Black" one (at the bottom) were in fact Steel colour and therefore after 70 years, not dissimilar from the Silver version.

All three of my badges were made using the same die and display the same flaw on the "2" in 1932.

            Gorgeous pieces Stan.
I'm yet to find the 'steel' grade to complete the set. Or maybe its the silver that I'm missing- as you pointed out they are nearly inextinguishable by now. My set is the more commonly encountered type of "small 2". To date I came across three different types that I believe are pre '45.
Interestingly enough the amount of different pin attachments on those AAD badges is quite big (if you can say that about those seldom encountered badges). Was always wondering if any of the ones I've seen are in fact expertly attached replacement hardware or if they were in fact factory pins.
I read somewhere that one of the makers of those was Lauer of Nurnberg. Sadly forget what the source of this info was. Any ideas who the makers might be?
            Thanks for sharing!
            cheers

Quick correction to the above (thanks to the research of Wim Saris and translation of Andreas from WRF). It would seem that those awards were presented in gold, silver and BRONZE classes, not like previously claimed and believed gold, silver and steel (much like Todt Preis). Original discussion can be viewed here: http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/non-co...eichen-540335/
My deepest thanks to both individuals for making this info available to the rest of us.

                  cheers

                    Matt,

Whilst I would agree that the three classes were GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE the Bronze grade was indeed an oxidised steel colour and that is why you will never see a Bronze-Coloured AAD badge for sale.

Here is an article from IMM 51 (1992):

Oxidized steel is bronze in color.

                      cheers

Well I suppose that there was a difference between Silver grade Matt Silver, Bronze grade oxidised Iron colour, when they were first produced which isn't apparent 80 years later.

                          Not sure if I follow.
So the bronze grade which was oxidized steel (rust color) did what? Aged over 80 years by turning silver?

                          cheers

Here's one that was sold a while back with a document listing a bronze grade.
No reason to doubt the pin was not the one awarded and mentioned on its Urkunde. And the badge as pictured. Hmmmm..

I would appreciate if anyone could estimate the value of the ironcolored/bronze badge. AAD (Anhalt Arbeidsdienst) 1932. I have one piece given to me by my father. Do not know where he got it.
