Please let us know if the forks are from the time of the Third Reich? Are these the forks of the casino police?

The forks are unlike any flatware used by the III Reich police that I have had in my collection. Those pieces are usually marked with the police eagle. These forks can be anything with the abbreviation "Pol. Reich." .

At the police binoculars is to determine pol. dienstglas. Here on the forks is similar - pol. reich. At the forks of ss is the same principle - ss - reich. Is this may indicate that such a term is correct?
Cutlery luftwaffe eagle or some have and others have subtitles.

To be quite frank, I was unaware of the book you cited. I found the quite large book (470 pgs) to be for sale on Amazon for $35. I also found a review at this site that permits viewing of some of the pages: http://books.google.com/books?id=Fye...page&q&f=false . Viewing pages 337 to 345, I found several examples of various police marked flatware with some interesting designs and explanations. Please view page 342 for an interesting police eagle of post 1936 design (oakleaf wreath) but with the eagle viewing to the direction of the earlier design.

Are examples of the flatware marked "Pol. Reich." shown in the police chapter? Yannes does include extensive history lessons along with his identifications. But I must say, that I have never seen an example of police flatware different from the style shown in the link that Dave posted. My horizons must be certainly limited.

The book grygierek2 refers to must be the latest in Jim Yannes' series on TR cutlery and tableware. I have the first three editions and none have this design referred to on p.337. I knew he had recently completed work on a new, greatly enlarged edition, and this must be it; congrats to Jim, who has added much to our hobby in the genre of silver services and tableware!

The forks pictured were produced by the Solingen firm of J.A. Henckels, which has been in business for almost 300 years and is still going strong.
