As most know I collect PO sleeve eagles in the main. This eagle is presented as the ONLY example of a hand embroidered NCO sleeve eagle that I believe is original.
I believe this was originally in the G. Chambers extensive collection of Feurwehr eagle but has recently been acquired by me.
From the obverse it at first appears to be a typical machine embroidered example, but the obverse shows that it is entirely hand made. Quite nice work, with exceptional details to the wreath. Hard to believe that it is simple needlework. The wings seem a bit wavy but this is due to the backing material stretching not the original production.

It is not hard to imagine some volunteer fireman's wife making this. It was clearly based on a known factory produced pattern.
Presented just to show that almost anything is possible in the realm of civil police insignia.
