Police or Gestapo handcuffs for opinion

    Hi,
I found this interesting piece of history and want to keep it in my collection. Would appreciate for any your opinions or history about this handcuffs. I've been told police and Gestapo used them for close guard or make an arrest on the streets.

These are classic "com`alongs", used by almost every police force in the world at some time, and they are still in use in some places. I think it would be difficult to connect these with TR.

        Thanks Hilton.
I received it from Germany, did the German police used them after the war?

I once had a chance to buy from a vet some polizei handcuffs taken from a torture area used by the ss police. I didnt buy them, but they were of a different type, although I dobelieve I have a pair like this that is authentic, I think these were used in many police forces even in the usa till cuffs were standardized to change from devices that tended to break wrists to be more humane types. I will try and see if I can find mine to show the marks.

              Dave, thanks. Very helpful link.
              I found this one http://handcuffs.org/gallery_nippers/index.html
where all "nippers" try to be classified. Yes, US police used them, but different types, my type classified in that table like "mid 20th century from Europe?", which can be TR .

There are some Schwarz maker marked ones which you CAN link to TR or earlier (mid/end 20ies)....yours COULD be TR

However the very same style had been used by the German Police forces (FRG) up to the early 80ies (different style GDR) .

                A Schwarz "tripple"
