      Thia type commonly reproduced. Looks artificially "aged". As said we need to see the back as the repros have common characteristics seen from the back.

          After seeing the back I can opine that the eagle is an authentic period piece.

            I agree, an authentic example that is commonly copied. A little worse for wear but it adds some character.
            Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

              I am not entirely convinced, never seen the Speckling in the top part of the body before or in the top of the legs, the head is definately a repro style, however it is a thin body long necked type that is found on originals. but looking at the drop in the right wing it would suggest a great deal of cloth shifting on manufacture, this may account for the funny head, but not the speckling. As no other have turned up with this feature so far I would have to say, cautiously, that it is original.
