Hello folks. I got this little badge along w/ a DAK pith helmet shield from a flea market vendor the other day and am wondering if any of you Polizei experts out there can enlighten me as to its vintage? I'm leaning towards it being post-war, but the runic emblem raises questions for me. It's relatively small (1 1/2 tall x 1 1/8 wide) and has two mounting pins soldered to the reverse (one is half-gone). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

That's a cap-shield for a Police visor of the early post war Mannheim city police (ca. 1947/48). Mannheim was part of the U.S. zone and most of these cities wore such shields on visors and (a bigger one) on tunics.
The "runic" symbols are just the coat of arms of Mannheim, nothing TR related. -
