    Polizei Bergmütze for review

In the hope that this will generate extra Po. expertise...

    Thanks in advance.

The insignia is oddly sewn and I typically see these smaller trapazoid eagles on Feuerwehr caps instead of Schutzpolizei caps. I am afraid that I don't care for it very much.

Thank you for your input. I must admit that I myself have not yet seen this configuration on a Schupo cap either, of course this in itself does not need to mean anything but it is probably not a credit. I do like how it is sewn though.

What about the rest of the cap? The wool strikes me as typical wartime and the complete cap can't be compared to known post war examples I've seen posted previously...

I actually like the overall cap look and feel.

Oddly sewn and/or incongrous insignia are not the major concern, for they may be uncorrectly applied to original wartime headgear.
Other features unquestionably give away this item as a post-WW2 West German State Police early cap dating back to the '50s - '60s. Given the little time elapsed from the end of the conflict, manufacturing details and material do appear pretty close to wartime specs.
