    Cufflinks ?

    Hello all,

I know cufflinks are controversial but I thought I would try to get some opinions on these. Thanks in advance.

I'd say ugly modern fantasy. Overlooking the hideous eagle, screw-backs on cuff links? They'd never stay in place or sit right. Likely out of Poland.

Off-centred swaz is always a bad Omen.

I have-had one of these with the exact securing back for thirty years so long before the Polish influence.

I have no proof but I always thought 'American Nazi Party'
I know that there is a newer publication about the A.N.P. and wonder if these might be pictured or discussed therein.

In the attached photo, note the item at the bottom right.

Book on the American Nazi Party

John's reference to a new book on GL Rockwell's American Nazi Party in his note below caught my eye -- any further information available on this publication, such as name, author, publisher, date of publication...?

              Many thanks,

              James

Br. James, I really & truly believe that the new Bender book on the pre-war German American Bund, is certainly NOT a new book on George Lincoln Rockwell's American Nazi Party from 1958-1967, but is in reality a book on Fritz Kuhn's German American Bund from 1936-1939.

Sorry if I mislead and misinformed but I was simply going by and quoting the advetisement as described below:

                      John

                      "They too were AMERICANS"
The German-American Bund in Words, Photos and Artifacts

                      by Scott Freeland

                      • Was the Bund a German or American organization?

                      • How many members and units of the “Bund” existed?

                      • What was the “Bund” vision for America?

                      • Was there an American SS?

                      • Was worldwide genocide contemplated for people of Germanic origin?

                      • What U.S. official and arch enemy of the “Bund” turned out to be a Soviet agent?

                      • What became of “Bund” members during and after WWII?

                      • What do authentic “Bund” relics and memorabilia look like?

                      • Are “Bund” items faked like many Third Reich items, and how does one tell the difference?

These and the answers to 100’s of other questions can be found in this title.

What were the origins of the Bund? They were a mixture of many things, to include the post-WWI abortive Communist Revolution in Germany and response by the Freikorps movement, the early Hitler activities of 1922-1924, the world-wide economic boycott of German products starting in 1933, anti-German propaganda in the USA during the 1930s tied with fresh memories of US involvement in the Great War, and of course the Great Depression.

“They too were Americans” is an inside view of the German-American Bund from interviews, personal diaries, hundreds of photos and artifacts compiled by the author. The Bund was a truly independent form of American National Socialism which sought understanding as well as friendship between the United States and Germany. Domestically, the Bund believed portions of the Capitalist as well as National Socialist world view could be of benefit to their fellow citizens in America.

Many thanks to John and Silesien for the correction; much appreciated! I already have a copy of Scott Freeland's "They too were Americans" and found it to be a wonderful and informative resource, not only regarding the German-American Bund but also the Bund's predecessors and similar National Socialist and right-wing groups in Canada and Mexico throughout the pre-WWII period. The scope of Freeland's book does not cover the post-WWII Nazi-style organizations here in the USA.

The two clutchpin-backed eagles & swas presented by William Kramer at the beginning of this thread do not resemble anything produced by the Bund or any of the other pro-Nazi organizations discussed in "They too were Americans" -- though I hasten to add that no one book could contain a sample of EVERYTHING produced by and for the Bund.
