Dave, or whosoever will. tell me what this cap or lid thingy is. it is copper, 3" in diameter & is ABOUT 1/2" deep - it has ADOLPH HITLER ALONG ONE EDGE & 1937 around the top it has DEMVERDIENSTV OLLEN - WEIDMANN - IT HAS A SMALL CRACK at one edge. what would be a reasonable asking price if i put it on e stand? please and thank u

Larry, I have never seen anything like this before. It appears like a cap or cover to something but what?

If I may offer a guess, and a guess is what this is, I would say it is the cap off a tin that holds the caps for cap and ball black powder rifle. I have a couple of them around somewhere though not TR. I will try to find them and post picture.

here are a few pictures of a reproduction box that goes with a repro pistol. My originals are packed away where I can not reach them right now. This box is just a hair under 2 inches. I believe this is what the TR/DJ cap is for. It could also be for a patch box. Post a link in the firearms section and see what they say there.
