Heavy Luftschutz Medal??? Is it possible???

Hello people,

I received this medal today. I never see one heavy luftschutz medal. Is it possible???

Weight: 33,7gr
(37,70x43,02)mm

One Luftschutz in zinc is: 12,2gr and (40,06x45,35)mm

The loop is replacement and the ribbon don't shine in UV test, but not is good in burn test.

I don't know, but this medal looks like as fake... What do you think????

Yes, heavy is possible if it is zinc based, many are light becuase they are aluminum based...can you post a side shot of your piece? I am not keen on your ribbon ring and medal ring though, so it could be lead too or some other heavy alloy becuase I would think a zinc one would have the ribbon ring cast in with the medal but I have not looked at a zinc one of these in a while.

No need for any more pictures or banter, it is simply a really bad fake, looks like one of those very heavy lead fakes that used to float around the gun shows, attracting the bargain-hunters. The smooth edges & terrible detail are a dead give-away.

1st photo , the finish looks worn & a copper base metal showing through. the ribbon is the wrong color, more a purple than blue color. jeff

I have in front of me an original WW2 German color chart of WW1 & WW2 German medals: the Luftschutz ribbon is violet ( lite purple ) NOT BLUE. Who told you the Luftschutz ribbon was supposed to be blue,- Sarah Palin ??

The Lufstchutz medal also is original. it is the heavy version. There is no lead in her, I have had it to I in hand. The tape I am not so safe of its authenticity but of the medal

The images are very increased, if they did this with anyone of his medals would seem all false
