        Nice pieces.

I love the first pattern polizei cap insignia.
Notice the cut through between the legs and the thick prongs.

Thanks,I used to have a fire officers cap with a first pattern eagle, stupidly I let it go in the old Kent arms auction, but back in the eighties they did not fetch much money then.John

            John,

The solid backed first pattern is more desirable.
There's a thread by Dave Cameron on the polizei forum.

Nice eagles! Have to saw that I've never seen prongs like that before on the first pattern, very interesting. Below is a link to that thread Mil. mentioned.

Dave, indeed slightly off-variant with thick prongs.
I also noticed that they are not brass prongs.

                      John,

Most Tshako eagles are marked CTD, JSF or by Assmann.
Unmarked ones are rather common as well.
You've got a good one, so nothing to worry.

Ron, Oh Yes B&N, but never seen JMO.

B&N is a fairly less common make from what I have observed.

JMO 38 - Same set up?

I've not come across this make before.
