Here is another for comparison - One which I purchased and was lost in the mail along with a bunch of other facinating polizei & TN documents several years ago

These postcards have been heavily reproduced so one must be careful. Most of the reproductions are on the wrong paper. The new paper is too thin and too white. If it does not feel like a stiff and old postcard it is a fake.

Your best bet is to collect cards with cancellations and writing on the back to be assured they are of the period.

Well said I have one of those mentioned thin examples that I suspected as a copy and it's well done and now aged from over the years.

that was my concerns ,it is very flimsy and just did not feel right in hand and even comparing it to the examples Dave posted i can tell that they are printed on much thicker material ,this card belongs to a friend of mine and was planning on selling it at the SOS ,but my gut told me it just did not feel right and i don't want to sell an item on my table if it is bad,the example i posted is only about the thickness of 2 sheets of printing paper if it were to be folded in half it would just crease like normal paper should ,NOTE: the crease in Daves example how it gets wrinkled up because the card stock is much thicker

I see what you mean but it really is a lot thinner than other postcards I own

Do not write off the 'flimsy' ones.

The one shown here is very flimsy .............. like a lot of the wartime WHW etc. cards.

The person sending this card wrote it in shorthand.

All I can see are the words 'Uncle Adolf'.
