Schutzpolizei Hauptwachtmeister - my major 2010 project

    Hello guys

I want to show you what has been my major 2010 project. I wanted to build a German Schützpolizei set to go with my Norwegian Nasjonal Samling police set. These guys could be seen patrolling the streets here in Norway from 1942 (NS police uniform is m42).

The Schutzpolizei Hauptwachtmeister jacket is stamped ”Po 43 Verkauft”. The P-38 holster is stamped ”P-38 ewx 1943 WaA 195”and the NCO visor is marked ”ERSTKLASSIGES SPEZIALHAUS Globus Gesetzlich geschützt” and stamped ”Po 1943”.

A waf-member posted pictures of the polizei ribbon bar and he was very kind and sold it to me. I wanted a bar with KvKII without swords as many police soldiers stationed in Norway received this medal. And service in Austria and Czechoslovakia before he came to Norway is likely

So for me 2010 has been the year of Schutzpolizei

Very nice, but be sure to add a S.84/98 to the left rear hip. And try to find a nice police marked holster instead of your military issue. I know a police accepted P38 holster is difficult to find, but a police P08 holster would suffice. A police Ski cap would also work, or the overseas cap.

Do you have photos of these policemen patrolling Norwegian streets as policemen, or in groups as occupation forces? My photo albums show some of the companies of Btls. 253 and 251 which were quartered in (outside) Oslo, Elverum and other cities in camps.

Here are some photos of police batallions in Norway. The first two are of participants in an early German/Norwegian track & field event.

These show the Norwegian soldiers and some of the NSS fellows. The third picture is of an inspection at a police barracks in Oslo where you can see the variety of headgear worn.

Thank you for nice comments guys and thank you for very interesting photos Joe Unfortunately I do not have photos of these policemen patrolling Norwegian streets as policemen, but to find such photos in 2011 is on top of on my wanted list I also need to find a police marked holster but as you say this is difficult to find.

Since I have shown the Norwegian NS police uniforms in this thread I will also show you a couple of detailed visor and ski cap insignia pictures to study. First out a visor cap badge:

In 2009 I helped my dear friend Hugh Page Taylor from Australia with a front page to the Italian military history magazine “Uniformi&Armi” where he wrote a major article on the Norwegian Front Fighter badge. We needed to take a photo showing no obvious national socialistic symbols due to Italian law. A good old friend helped me as model with the NS police uniform on a sunny and dry day here in Oslo
