Thanks for posting my best find this year Gerd! This Landgendarmerie commission carbine was manufactured for the police at Erfurt in 1894 and reworked for the Spitzer cartridge around 1905 according to the markings. It is all matching and Gendarmerie property marked on the front sight band. The Prussian Landgendarmerie continued to carry this carbine during the time of the Weimar Republic until it was replaced with the Kar.98a in 1927. I have been looking for one of these for a long time.

As a lowly "eagle-weenie" I have nothing to compare with some of the treasures so far shown, but I was able to fill in a few very large holes in the eagle collection this last year. Only a few more "types" to go!

Gert, I think the top two are equally stunning.
I'm happy to just collect eagles set in metal and have many times been tempted to start collecting cloth but i guess in this hobby, it pays to specialise in an area.

While I may not have added a rare bullion WSP example like Bill did, I was able to snag some choice cloth this year including the horse blanket eagle, embroidered WSP, Verkehrs, GemPo, FSP, etc.

I had a few acquisitions,...but really like these two M43 Einheitsmützes,..since the officer versions are harder to come by.

Sentimental value

Associate member "FLATLANDER" was kind enough to sell me this fantastic sleeve eagle. Although not of great monitary value , this Feuerschutzpolizei sleeve eagle has great sentimental value. My wife (Denise) was born in Bad Mergentheim. It is our favorite.

Some really great contributions here, keep them coming! Those FSP eagles are tough to locate, a lot more so than some people think, and I've only been able to scrape together a few over time.
