Yes, in my opinion for what that is worth, it is authentic. It is a Schutzpolizei post 1941 eagle for use on the summer cotton tunic. Too bad someone got a little carried away with the scissors though.

This a pattern that has been reproduced but from what I can see I do like the looks of yours. Your example is on mottled material and reflects that it was "form" cut and stitched down that way at one point.
