    Police eagke opinion....

    Gentlemen,

I found this eagle is a cigar box when I was 15 years old... I'm now 69 years old. I believe it is an original, but an expert opinion sure would help.

    Regards,

Don, it looks good to me and has plenty of detail where repros are missing it for the most part. Besides that, I couldn't image thre was much of a market for repro first pattern police insignia in 1956! These have been relatively inexpensive and common until more recently when some reference and interest has been built around the polizei.

Juoneen, it is not missing the prongs, they are just sticking straight out.
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

No... Look real close: both prongs are there.

Don, I guess you could say that you also have a Fire Department cap eagle. I know police sounds better, but we really can't tell from that piece which department wore it.

Nice first pattern with cut-out leg detail. They are still common out there to be found.
