    Forstschutzkommando? Question 3

It appears that this "civilian guide" is wearing an armband that might say "Deutsches Forstschutz". Has anyone seen one of these before?

It appears the seated man is holding a Soviet sub-machinegun? What is his rank? The other man is holding an unusual looking rifle, or am I seeing things? Also, what is his rank?

The submachine gun is a Schmeisser MP28 II German model.

Photo probably from GG - but it could be also "Deutsche Forstbeamter"

Polish Pre-war forestry service during occupation wore in work armbands similar to this one.

My grandfather had armband "Deutsche Forstbeamter".

      Very interesting photo.

        Very nice and interesting picture.

Both on the right side are members of the "Forstschutzkommando".

I have a picture which shows the same man :-)

A armband "Deutscher Forstbeamter" are unknown, but I know and I have a armband "Forstschutz".

        Best regards, Kay.

Thanks, gentlemen, for your replies. Kay, do you know the ranks of the two men? Is there a list of Forstschutzkommando ranks and their Army equivalents?

            Hei!

I´m sorry but can´t find any regulations about the FSK.

The man on the left side is a "Scharführer des FSK", the man on the right is a "Rottenführer des FSK".

            Best wishes, Kay!

              Hi,
the Scharführer des FSK equals an NCO (Unteroffizier), the Rottenführer is Gefreiter.
I think there is no real regulation existing concerning the uniform and ranks of the FSK. If it exist it still unknown to the broad public.

I think I have seen a photo some years ago from occupied Belgium with the armband " Deutscher Forstbeamter", so I would say Ohlau is right with his interpretion of the writing.

              Regards
              Stefany
              Best Wishes Stefany

FSK members had both on the cap: a LW eagle and / or forestry eagle.

Does anyone know a armband "Forstschutz" ?

I read somewhere that the Forstschutzkommando was supplied with uniforms by the Luftwaffe so it would seem reasonable that some would wear the Luftwaffe eagle on some uniform items.

That´s right! But I have any pictures of FSK members with forestry headgear and LW-sidecaps with forestry eagles..

                      Kay!
