Police trade patch ID (period picture)

What is this trade patch? Is that perhaps a signals blitz?
I believe these to be Estonian members in the Polizei, Narva front 1944

Never seen anything like it. Homemade signal blitz a possibility. It certainly is NOT a "standard" design as shown below, whatever it may be.

Did senior signalman have silver piping around the spec insignia like other branches of the armed forces??? Certainly in the same configuration, could the blitz also be in silver bullion, looks somewhat similar colour to the collar litz.

I believe our Irish friend is referencing the fact that this photo has been extensively discussed as a possible example of a sniper award patch in wear in the location on the tunic sleeve specified for a police qualification patch, while they were authorized. The patch he is wearing, at least superficially, very much looks like a sniper award. Unfortunately it is just not clear enough.

I don't think he was suggesting that the rifles indicated snipers.
