police helmet??

I`m new to collecting and also this site.(which is a wealth of information)Any info on this helmet would be greatly appreciated.There`s no markings in it or on the liner.Only 2 small initials in pencil in the center.Hope it`s not a repo. Thanks for looking,Gary

thanks for the link.It looks like the 1 in those photos has a silver decal but mine is gold,that make any difference??

The change from silver to gold could be toning from age. Nice & legit looking helm.

I would agree with Billy's comment above pertaining to "the change from silver to gold could be toning from age". One of my examples is clearly silver and another has a gold tone but it was originally silver. There are cases where a lacquer over the decal has become yellowed, making the normally silver decals appear gold toned. The existence of gold police decals has been discussed in length before and contested due to misinterpretations, if I recall correctly, made by authors. Not sure if anything new has surfaced in this debate.

At 300 you were right around what they try to sell these for..some more some less..nice but civil doesnt always bring big bucks..Billbert
