Hi Terry,
I am by far an expert and have done a few searches on these, and from the opinions it seems that the zinc based ones are not generally accepted. Here is link with a pretty good discussion.......

The detail of yours seems good, but the fading guilding would be a concern. I hope I'm wrong for your sake.

thanks Andy , interesting thread but not totally conclusive, at least not enough for me to aproach the dealer for a refund , fine zinc gets a "maybe", love those tombak examples though

I agree, and I was not going to spend the bucks on a medal that was not conclusive. For what its worth I do like the detail on yours, but you know what opinions are like.....
