Large Aluminium Railroad Eagle opinions needed

    Hello all

Could I please have your opinion on the reverse markings on this Large Aluminium Train Eagle, wingspan is 720mm. The story that I was told is that it was bought directly from the vet who at first tried to prise the eagle of with his bayonet (hence the slight damage) and then realised the fixing lugs needed cutting off.

Sorry these are the only pictures I have at the moment.

    Thank for looking
    Mal

I think its an original , as you can see where they cut off the threaded lugs at the bottom, some of the studs left at the top... there is normal corrosion, and marks are crisp. I like. You can also see where they broke off a pice, may have fallen, and broke, or happened when removed. Too bad they didnt leave the lugs, but they are harder to mail with the long studs. Nice find id say. Can you give us a taste of what the actual front looks like from the actual eagle or dont you have it in hand? Fakes always have marks less detailed as they are cast from originals, and much details of proof marks get lost in the replication process.

          Thanks Slim & juoneen

I have tried to contact JR to see what his thoughts are on the eagle, I did find one almost identical eagle some time ago on the net and the markings and numbers were the same. I saved the pictures if anyone needs to see them.

          Cheers

Friend, the photos of the reverse look fine, but if you can get a couple more of the other wing stud and some obverse shots would be nice, just to be sure. JR

                  Thanks JR

I will request more pictures from the seller and post them as soon as possible.

Some time ago I found on the net an identical eagle and kept the pictures, here's three.
